Kindness Is Always Possible

Nothing says “Happy Monday morning!” like a knife being lunged at your face. Was that too dramatic? I’m a storyteller, trust me I could be more dramatic but I’ll spare you the drama and skip to the insight and gratitude. I’m grateful for the people in my life that care so deeply about me (sorry Renee’ Leboa that you had to witness the incident from the other side of the phone line but thank you for being in my ear). I’m grateful that no one was hurt and I’m grateful that my inner and outer dialogue has changed over the years from “Eh, he’s not so big, I think I can take him” to “Wow, this guy is really hurting” followed by “Hey man, you look like you need help, do you need money, what can we do for you?” Thank you once again Erika Luckett for being in my ear “I believe in kindness, I believe in the simply things, I believe in the preciousness of all beings. I believe in tomorrow, despite the troubles we face, I believe in the human race.” Everyone is either operating from love or fear at all times and in all ways. Choose love and as Rumi said “it will absolve everything in its path.” May the troubled soul from my Monday morning find peace and may we all remember that we belong to each other.
