Theme of The Day - June 28, 2010

In our Living In Solution Class we have been joining together with daily exercises of shared intention.  We invite you to join us with the following intentions and remember this only works if you work it, but if you do I promise you the results will be startling and powerful.  Happy adventure.  Email me with your results if you would like to share :-) christy@christysnow.com

MondaysGo With The Flow Day

“In whatever way you can today, go with the flow. Do not resist or oppose. Do not control. Proceed through your day without expectations. The world seems to be a huge entity and you a very small one. But in truth the world is flowing from you. You are its source. To realize that truth, you must start to live as if it is true.

“You can think of this as an input-output exercise. When you operate out of a belief that the real world ‘out there’ is pushing against you, your mental input manifests as obstacles, resistance and struggle. But if you operate from the belief that you are the source and the world is secondary, then events will move smoothly, with time and room to spare. Solutions to problems will begin to come effortlessly.

TuesdaysPresent Moment Awareness Day

Experience the present moment.

“Right now, the present moment is full for you, but in an unreal way. It is full of memories, expectations, projected beliefs, and past conditioning. The present moment could be full in a different, far more real way, through the qualities listed …

Alertness—being awake.

Openness—or being free from expectations.

Freshness—not being overshadowed by the past.

Innocence—not judging from old experience.

Spontaneity—allowing new impulses to come in without criticism or censorship.

Fearlessness—the absence of traumas from the past.

Replenishing—the capacity to renew oneself from within.”

Let your focus on being full with the present moment be on the above today!

WednesdaysPowerful Prayer Day

Jesus said “Ask, and you will receive.” In the book the Third Jesus he tells us:

This may seem to be one of Jesus’ most extravagant promises. We have all asked and not received. To find out what Jesus actually meant, then, we have to answer a few questions: Who is asking? Where is the request going? Whom does it reach? For most people, the asking comes from the ego, with its unending stream of desires. The request is going out into empty space or to vaguely remembered God from childhood. The receiver of the request is unknown.

“What this means is that asking and receiving are disconnected. Indeed, they must be, because in everyday awareness the world is separate from us and fragmented into millions of isolated events. However, at a deeper level, everything is unified and whole. When you ask for anything, the One is asking the One, God is asking God. And there is always a response.

Practice “asking” in a new way today.  Let having a prayerful heart be your priority today but “Learn to ask in a new way, by expecting every wish to bring a response. Take the attitude expressed by the Persian poet Rumi: ‘Ask all of yourself.’ The mechanics of giving and receiving are inside you. Therefore, the next time you desire something, go through the following steps:

  • Express the desired outcome to yourself clearly.
  • Detach yourself from your request after you make it.
  • Take an undemanding attitude to the outcome.
  • Be open to whatever response the universe gives back.
  • Know that there is always a response.

“In this case, ‘response’ doesn’t mean a yes or no from God. There is no judge deciding whether you are worthy or not. Those perceptions were born of separation…In the state of separation that his followers experienced, many thoughts seemed to get no response. To restore it required a new sense of self. Jesus repeatedly teaches that ‘you are in God, and God is in you.’ Gradually, we can begin to experience this truth, and one of the best ways is by observing how our prayers are answered. The ways are often subtle, and they change…

“By being open and alert to these responses, some of which are inner and other outer, you escape the dichotomy of ‘God healed me’ and God didn’t heal me.’” Also keep in mind when you treat to claim what you REALLY want such as peace, love, harmony, and happiness rather than things.

ThursdaysJudge Nothing Day

Experience at least 20 minutes of designated silence today; no radio, phone, TV or other distractions.  Meditate twice as long as normal today.

Practice non-judgment. “Today I shall judge nothing that occurs.”

Fridays Giving Day

Give something to each person you meet today; a compliment, a smile, or a silent prayer affirming their good.  Be a generous receiver, graciously receiving gifts from nature and gifts from other people.  Accept compliments and gifts without denying your worthiness.

SaturdaysConscious Choice Day

In your choice making, ask your heart for guidance and be guided by the message of comfort or discomfort you feel in your body. Follow your intuition as you make decisions consciously even if you can’t explain WHY you are choosing it.

SundaysSynchronicity Day

Be OPEN and Expect “God Winks” from the Universe today.  Look for synchronicity today, stalk it, be open to an outpouring of so much synchronicity in your life that it will make you stop and say “WOW!”  This means being alert and aware and really LOOKING for it at every turn, knowing with ever glimpse of synchronicity that it is a God Wink of Good showing up for you somehow.  Accept it before you even know HOW this is for you, just know that it is and watch the demonstrations unfold.

Ahh...Oregon - June 10, 2010

What an amazing experience!  My partner Stacey & I just returned from facilitating a Women’s Retreat just east of Eugene, OR at St. Benedict’s Lodge on the McKenzie River.  The retreat was entitled “Returning To The Heart” and we returned to the heart indeed.  Hearts were opened, love was shared, intentions set and lives changed.  I was so filled up by the experience that I didn’t think it could get any better, and then…..our wonderful friend and hostess Carole insisted that we were too close not to drive a few minutes out of the way and experience Koosah Falls and Sahalie Falls.  The weather had been picturesque and downright perfect the day before but Sunday was vacillating from misting to full on rain without any sun in sight.  Being the nature lovers we are we decided to take her up on the offer despite the wet conditions.  As we pulled into our first stop at Koosah Falls I was overcome by the smell of the massive cedar trees, the moss and the raging river but I was unprepared for the rush of emotion and feeling of aliveness about to come as we walked to the edge and I felt my spirit soar.  I was so overcome with emotion, with the feeling of being alive and the pure perfection of life and God that tears began to stream down my face as I looked at this amazing sight!  As I stood there I acknowledged my gratitude to the 56 women in the retreat who opened their hearts and went into the deep well of exploring the heart with us which in turn opened me to be receptive to this moment, this God Moment!  I stood there allowing the mist from the waterfall to mix with the mist from the sky to mix with the mist from my heart.  Soggy and completed filled up to overflowing I stood in amazement and utter gratitude for my life and the recognition of God’s presence in it.  Thank you God!  Thank you Oregon! And so it is!
